Management System Setup
& Certification Assistance
From system design and documentation through to third-party audit and certification, we provide practical, end-to-end support to help your organisation achieve and maintain ISO certification across safety, environment, and quality.
ISO certification opens doors to government contracts, major principal contractors, and clients requiring demonstrated management system maturity. We guide organisations through each stage of the ISO journey: gap analysis, design, documentation, implementation, internal audit, and certification preparation.
The Three Standards
What Each Standard Covers
Each ISO management system standard follows the same high-level structure (Annex SL / HLS), making them well-suited to integrated implementation. Understanding what each covers is the starting point.
OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY MANAGEMENT
The international standard for OHS management systems. ISO 45001
replaces AS/NZS 4801 and OHSAS 18001 as the benchmark for workplace
health and safety management. It requires organisations to
demonstrate a systematic approach to identifying, controlling, and
eliminating OHS risks, with strong emphasis on worker participation,
leadership commitment, and continual improvement.
- Hazard identification and risk assessment framework
- Legal and other requirements management
- Objectives, targets, and improvement programs
- Emergency preparedness and response
- Incident investigation and nonconformance management
- Management review and continual improvement
ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT
ISO 14001 provides the framework for an effective Environmental
Management System (EMS). It helps organisations identify their
environmental aspects and impacts, establish controls, and drive
continual improvement in environmental performance, reducing
regulatory risk and demonstrating environmental responsibility to
clients, regulators, and the community.
- Environmental aspect and impact identification
- Environmental compliance obligations register
- Operational controls for significant environmental impacts
- Emergency preparedness for environmental incidents
- Environmental objectives and improvement programs
- Monitoring, measurement, and performance evaluation
QUALITY MANAGEMENT
ISO 9001 is the world’s most widely adopted quality management
standard, providing a framework for consistently delivering products
and services that meet customer and regulatory requirements. It
underpins client confidence, tender competitiveness, and operational
consistency; and is frequently required or preferred by government
and corporate procurement.
- Customer focus and satisfaction measurement
- Context of the organisation and interested parties
- Process approach and risk-based thinking
- Design and development controls (where applicable)
- Supplier and contractor evaluation and control
- Nonconformance management and corrective action
Integrated Management Systems
One System. Three Standards.
Because ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001 share a common high-level structure, they are highly compatible and frequently implemented as a single Integrated Management System (IMS). Rather than maintaining three separate systems with duplicated documentation and processes, an IMS consolidates them into a coherent, efficient framework.
We design and implement integrated systems that satisfy all three standards simultaneously, reducing administrative burden while maximising the commercial and operational value of certification.
Benefits of Integration
▶ Reduced documentation duplication across standards
▶ Single management review, audit cycle, and improvement process
▶ Consistent risk-based thinking across safety, environment, and quality
▶ Fewer certifying body audit days (combined audits available)
▶ Streamlined worker training and induction requirements
▶ Stronger position: triple certification signals management maturity
The Certification Journey
How We Take You From Start to Certified
ISO certification is a structured process. Our support can begin at any stage, but for organisations starting from scratch, we guide you every step.
GAP ANALYSIS
We assess your current practices against each standard’s requirements to identify what already exists and what needs to be developed.
SYSTEM DESIGN
We design your management system structure: processes, document hierarchy, and responsibilities, tailored to your organisation.
DOCUMENTATION DEVELOPMENT
All required policies, procedures, registers, and forms are developed specific to meet your operations and standard requirements.
IMPLEMENTATION SUPPORT
We support the practical rollout of your system: training, coaching, and ensuring your team understands and applies the system daily.
INTERNAL AUDIT & CERTIFICATION
We conduct internal audits, management reviews, and prepare you for Stage 1 and Stage 2 certification audits with an external certifying body. Choose your own ISO certifier or we can recommend a very practical agency we have worked with successfully for previous clients.
The Business Case
Why Pursue ISO Certification?
Tender Advantage
Regulatory Due Diligence
A certified, functioning management system is strong evidence of due diligence under the WHS Act and environmental legislation, relevant in enforcement investigations and prosecution defence.
Operational Performance
Well-implemented ISO systems drive real performance improvements, fewer incidents, reduced waste, consistent quality delivery, and better supplier management.
Client Confidence
Certification signals to clients, insurers, and partners that your organisation operates to internationally recognised standards, differentiating you from competitors who cannot demonstrate the same.
Scope of Support
What Our Assistance Includes
GAP ANALYSIS
Structured assessment of your current practices against each standard’s clause requirements. Delivered as a written gap report with a prioritised development plan and estimated effort to certification.
SYSTEM DESIGN
Design of your management system framework, including process mapping, document structure, roles and responsibilities, and the integration architecture where multiple standards apply.
DOCUMENTATION
Development of all required documented information: the management system manual, policies, procedures, work instructions, forms, registers, and records templates; all site- and operation-specific.
IMPLEMENTATION COACHING
On-site and remote coaching for your management team, system owners, and key personnel to embed system requirements into daily operations and build internal capability.
INTERNAL AUDITS
Conduct of formal internal audits against each standard’s requirements, producing audit reports and corrective action registers that demonstrate system maturity to your certifying body.
MANAGEMENT REVIEW FACILITATION
Facilitation of management reviews to the requirements of each standard, producing documented minutes and action records required for certification evidence.
CERTIFICATION AUDIT SUPPORT
Preparation for and attendance during Stage 1 and Stage 2 certification audits conducted by JAS ANZ accredited ISO certifying body. We manage the audit process, coordinate evidence, and assist in responding to any nonconformances identified.
SURVEILLANCE AUDIT SUPPORT
Ongoing support for annual surveillance audits and three-yearly recertification audits, including readiness reviews, corrective action follow-up, and audit attendance as required.
